In 1956, world-renowned custom painter, Jon Kosmoski, founded House of Kolor, because the custom pigments he was looking for were unavailable in the market. Since then House of Kolor has grown to become the premier paint supplier for hot rodders across the globe. House of Kolor paint has been used by many famous hot rodders throughout the years, such as Ed “Big Daddy” Roth who designed the world famous Beatnik Bandit (pictured below). House of Kolor is renowned for having off the wall color effects and unique color choices – perfect for the hot rodding world.
They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2016, and Retro Manufacturing decided to honor them with their 1952 Chevy truck they were building for SEMA. Jon became personally involved in this project and mixed up a special paint just for this truck. Due to the popularity of the color Jon created for this truck, it will soon be one of the colors House of Kolor offers. The truck was unveiled on the first day of SEMA, and Jon came by the booth and autographed the tailgate. Check out the video below. https://www.youtube.com/embed/wlY-3rrqcWg
The truck was assembled and painted by Findlay Customs in Henderson, NV. It is powered by a GM Performance LS3 6.2L crate engine with an ATI 4L65e automatic transmission kit with a 3200 RPM stall ATI torque converter. Custom headers were made by Findlay Customs. The truck features a Dynacorn body with sheetmetal from Bitchin Parts by Absolute Sheet Metal, a TCI aluminum frame with Ride Tech high-performance coil-over suspension, exhaust by Magnaflow, Wilwood disk brakes and Boyd Coddington wheels supplied by American Republic Wheels. The interior boasts modern conveniences such as air conditioning by Old Air Products, a custom steering wheel from CON2R, collapsable steering column from Ididit, Dakota Digital gauges, custom leather interior by Corona Concepts, power windows and a RetroSound® audio system.

The audio system features a RetroSound® Long Beach radio with built-in Bluetooth® hands-free technology, Apple iPod®/iPhone® compatibility, GM licensed screen protector and SiriusXM-Ready™. A Stereophonic 3-channel amplifier powers the speakers. Kick-panels custom made by SpeakerWorks hold our R-65N premium neodymium speakers, and our R-TB8 truck boxes hold two powerful 8 inch speakers behind the seats.
The truck was just photographed for the cover story of a major magazine – we will tell you which magazine as it gets closer to the publication date, so stay tuned! Retro Manufacturing will be selling the truck at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale next weekend, so make sure you check it out on TV.
